Dear Parishioners of St. Angela Merici Church,

As you know, Windsor received a large amount of rainfall this past Friday, July 16. There were many reports of flooding around the city, and regretfully, it is my duty to inform you that we also experienced flooding in all areas of the basement at St. Angela’s. When the flooding was discovered, we immediately contacted Catholic Mutual, our insurance provider, and began the process of filing a claim. The adjuster determined that the carpet in the Madonna del Rosario room would need to be removed and replaced, as would much of the vinyl flooring, which was peeling up due to the water exposure.

Belfor Property Restoration has already begun the process of removing the water, cleaning and sanitizing the affected areas, and ensuring that everything dries properly, so that mold does not develop. However, due to the large amount of flood damage in our area, it may be some time before the rest of the repairs are completed. This means that even as we enter stage 3, where indoor gatherings are once again possible, the basement must unfortunately remain off limits until the repair work is completed.

Please know that we will keep you advised of the status of the repair work. Let us keep all those who are suffering as a result of the flooding in our prayers.

Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Steven Huber, CSB
