Christ is Risen! Truly He is risen! Alleluia!
On behalf of the Clergy and Staff of the Windsor Heritage Catholic Family of Parishes, I wish you all a Happy and Blessed Easter!
For me, Easter has always been a joyful time of year. It is a time when we begin to see new life all around us as the grass becomes greener, flowers begin to bloom, trees begin to bud, and the earth “wakes up” from the sleep of winter. Even the occasional April snowstorm cannot hide the fact that spring is on its way! We even see this new life present in our Liturgies, when we move from the stark bareness of Good Friday, into the radiant joy of the Easter celebrations.
As we take in the new life all around us, we are reminded most of all of the new life that comes to us as followers of Christ, through his resurrection from the dead. We celebrate the fact that his death on the cross on Good Friday was not the end of the story, and that through his rising to new life, Christ has given us all the hope of eternal life in the Heavenly Kingdom, together with all the angels and saints.
As we rejoice in the good news of the Lord’s resurrection, we also celebrate with the members of our RCIA program who were received into the Church at the Easter Vigil. These newest members of our Catholic faith have received new life in Christ. As St. Paul reminds us in the letter to the Romans, we are buried with Christ through our baptism, so that we too might walk in newness of life with Christ. Please continue to pray for the newly Baptized and received throughout this Easter season, and ask God to help them to continue to grow closer to Him.
I want to offer a special word of thanks to all who worked so diligently over this past week to ensure that our celebrations during Holy Week and Easter ran smoothly. It takes an army to make these liturgies successful, especially when we are celebrating them in all three of our Parishes! The hard work of our volunteers and staff is greatly appreciated, so if you happen to see any of them this week, please be sure to give them your thanks!
May the Lord continue to bless all of us as we enter into this joyful season, and may the Light of Christ continue to illuminate our lives, and shine down on us as we recall and celebrate His Resurrection.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Steven Huber, CSB
