Christ is Risen!
Truly He is Risen! Alleluia!
What a joy it is to proclaim these words at the end of our Lenten observance. Having journeyed with our Lord through his Passion and Death, the Church joyfully proclaims that death is not the end of the story. Christ is risen from the dead, and through his resurrection has given life to the whole world. The Sequence of Easter, sung between the Second Reading and the Gospel, sums up this joy. I encourage you to read and reflect on this beautiful text, especially throughout the Easter Octave.
Christians praise the Paschal victim,
Offer thankful sacrifice!
Christ the Lamb has saved the sheep,
Christ the just one paid the price,
Reconciling sinners to the Father.
O Mary come and say, what you saw at break of day.
“The empty tomb of my living Lord,
I saw Christ Jesus risen and adored.
Bright Angels testified,
shroud and grave clothes side by side.
Yes, Christ my hope rose gloriously,
He goes before you into Galilee.”
Share the good news, sing joyfully,
His death is victory!
Lord Jesus, victor King, show us mercy.
Amen. Alleluia!
As we rejoice in the joy of the Easter Season, I also want to congratulate Jordan Coop-Menard and Miranda Drake, who were fully initiated into the Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. Miranda’s son, Grayson Hanlan, was also Baptized at the Easter Vigil. I also want to congratulate Sarah Walker, who was received into Full Communion in the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil. May the Lord continue to bless and guide these new members of the Catholic Church!
Special thanks also to our staff and volunteers, who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that all of our celebrations ran smoothly. Your work is greatly appreciated!
On behalf of all of the Clergy and Staff of the Windsor Heritage Catholic Family of Parishes, I want to wish you all a Happy and Blessed Easter! May the light of Christ continue to shine on all of us throughout this most holy season.
Sincerely In Christ,
Fr. Steven Huber, CSB
