Dear Parishioners of the Windsor Heritage Catholic Family of Parishes,

Two items that I would like to briefly update you on. The first is an update on Fr. Maurice. I am pleased to report that over the past couple of days, his condition has improved considerably. He himself has said that he still has a long road ahead of him, but we are all encouraged that he is making progress. For the time being, he remains in isolation, and will do so until he is advised by the health unit that he has been cleared to return to the Rectory at Assumption. We look forward to his gradual return to ministry in our Family of Parishes. Please continue to keep him in your prayers as he continues his recovery!

The second item has to do with the “reopening” announcement made yesterday by the Province of Ontario. The date of February 16 was announced as the “targeted” date for the stay at home order to end in Windsor-Essex. I wish that I could tell you exactly what that means for us, and give you a firm indication of our reopening plans, especially since the day after this target date is Ash Wednesday. However, there are still a lot of unanswered questions, which unfortunately prevent us from laying out a firm reopening plan. Hopefully those questions will be answered sooner rather than later. As soon as we get the answers we need, we will share more details about our return to in-person Mass. be sure to keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for updates.

Know that you are all in our prayers, and I ask for your prayers for all of the staff of our Family of Parishes as well, especially as we prepare to reopen our Churches once again.

In Christ,
Fr. Steven
