Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am deeply shocked and saddened by the news emerging from Ukraine. I ask all members of our Family of Parishes to pray for peace, and to pray for the citizens of Ukraine, who are affected by Russia’s military action.
Windsor is home to many immigrants of Ukrainian descent, and so I encourage you to offer prayers for them as well: especially for our brothers and sisters in Christ who attend Saints Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church in Southwood Lakes.
Pope Francis has asked all Catholics to mark Ash Wednesday, March 2, as a day of prayer and fasting for peace in Ukraine. As we begin our Lenten observance, I invite you to join with Pope Francis in prayer for peace in Ukraine, and throughout the entire world.
